Since joining the NSW Food Authority in 2005 Syd Moutou has been instrumental in applying information and communications technology to provide the Authority, its clients and the general public with digital service delivery channels, in line with the requirements of the Authority’s legislative programs and strategic plan. The Authority is charged with regulating the food industry to ensure that food in NSW is safe and to reduce the public health impact of food borne illnesses.
The Food Safety regulatory function of the Authority is now operationally aligned with the Biosecurity regulatory function of the Department of Primary Industries. As a member of the Biosecurity & Food Safety team, Syd Moutou plays a key role in integrating and developing an effective systems architecture that will serve both regulatory functions.
Prior to this, Syd Moutou accumulated considerable experience in business and e-commerce project management with a major focus on the internet gaming industry, risk management, compliance testing/certification and corporate governance matters. He gained extensive exposure to the evolving operational requirements for mobile technology in several key industries including Logistics, Transport, Emergency Services, Gaming, Hospitality and Defence.
