Pedro is responsible for the coordination, design and development of new initiatives at the Commercial and Service Delivery unit at the New Zealand Government Information Office (GCIO). He is currently leading the Service Intermediation initiative; and he has worked for the Public Cloud Marketplace programme and the Software Acquisition Strategy programme.
Before joining the New Zealand Government, Pedro was Deputy Chief Executive and also served as Chief Information Officer for multiple institutions in the Mexican Government. Through his career he has worked on several projects across multiple jurisdictions.
Pedro has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Management from Monterrey Tech, which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools of the United States. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Business Administration from Växjö University in Sweden. He has a Master of Public Policy from Victoria University in New Zealand and he is currently working towards a PhD around Governance and Artificial Intelligence at Victoria University.
