General Manager — Strategy, Architecture & IT Performance Management / QBE Insurance

Andy has spent 20+ years working within major Financial Services firms. Beginning within the Commercial Banking division of NatWest / RBS in the UK before joining ING in the Netherlands, where he extended his knowledge across core Retail Banking and some Insurance and now with QBE in Australia across a full General Insurance business since December 2014.

Appointed as a General Manager to head up the Strategy, Architecture & IT Performance Management functions for ANZ Operations across Commercial, Personal & Speciality business lines.

Andy is accountable for Identifying, proposing & planning all regional technology investment & ensuring its alignment to both Group & Regional Business & IT Strategies. Operationally, he has direct responsibility for managing & improving the core enterprise & solution architecture capability.

Additionally, he has line responsibility for the IT Performance Management function which covers:

– Project & Portfolio Governance: solution delivery lifecycle , assurance controls & reporting/tracking to the executive board

– IT Risk & Security: risk controls assessments, operational risk reviews & application solution design/validation

– IT Performance Reporting: oversight & preparation of budget, actuals, SLA, KRI, headcount & IT operational efficiency against targets to the executive board

He has gained substantial working experience & knowledge across a broad spectrum of a Banking & Insurance strategies, operating models, products, processes, technologies & frameworks. All of which are fundamental for his chosen profession in Strategy & Architecture.
